Lucene

Reporting > Report Helpers > Lucene

The Lucene screen allows you to hide fields from the Search field in report filters. Additionally, use this screen to refresh the list of searchable fields, making their content available to user searches in reports. For example, you need to refresh the list of searchable fields after creating a Searchable fields report module on the Standard Report Modules screen.

For information about using the Search field in control panels, see Filters and control panels.

MemberExcludedSurveyIndexFields

Determines which fields are excluded from indexing, and will therefore be unavailable in the Search field in reports. Exclude fields by moving them to the right-side box. By default, no fields are excluded from search. Additionally, fields in the left-side box are searchable in Responses reports, even if those fields are not specifically added to a Searchable fields (completed surveys) report module.

Ensure that the following fields are INCLUDED in the left-side box to ensure accuracy of Word Cloud results:
  • Guest Name (name)

  • Address (address)

  • Date of response (date)

  • Phone (phone)

  • Email (email)

  • Comments (comments)
Note: If you specifically add fields in the SelectedFields property of Searchable fields report modules, those fields are included in searches (after reindexing Lucene), even if you exclude them in the MemberExcludedSurveyIndexFields property.

For more information about configuring Searchable fields reports, see Configuring Responses reports and Invitation Ranker reports.

Enable TALL_SET for lucene (invitations indexing)

When checked, this property enables indexing for fields defined in all Searchable fields report modules. After adding new searchable fields, you must rebuild the Lucene cache using the ReloadFullTextIndex button.

ReloadFullTextIndex
After making changes to the list of excluded fields or adding new searchable fields through a Searchable fields report module, the Lucene indexes must be reloaded. This refreshes the list of searchable fields available in reports. Additionally, if you make changes to the Word Cloud screen in Setup you might need to reload Lucene indexes for those changes to appear in reports.
Important: Clicking ReloadFullTextIndex can require considerable time and system resources. During this time search is still available, but new and updated fields are not fully available until the the reindexing is complete. That means that a search might return partial results until the reindexing process has completed.
