Alert type settings
Reporting > Action > Alerts > Type Settings
Advanced setup options for alerts, including which alert appear in filters for a role, the business days to include when computing trigger delays, and the address(es) to receive copies of Rapid Response email notifications.
Each alert (type) has these advanced settings:
- Alert Type description
- A free-form description of the alert for documentation.
- Roles that have this AlertType available in the filter
- Determines which roles see the alert in the Alert filter of the Responses report. In Medallia Mobile, users can select and unselect notifications for the alerts assigned to their roles.Tip: By default, no roles can see an alert. To make an alert visible to a role, select the role by moving it into the right panel.
- Excluded days (Business days)
- Days of the week alert timers use when calculating trigger delays. No workflow activities are triggered during non-business days, and the excluded days (right column) are ignored when calculating a timer delay. For a complete discussion, see Alert business days. To exclude specific days in a year, use the Holidays calendar option.
- Fixed CC Field
-
Email addresses to receive copies (CC:) when a Rapid Response email is sent for the alert type. Use this feature, for example, to notify an enhanced customer care team when an important customer makes a complaint on a survey.
Note:
-
Separate multiple address with commas.
-
The email addresses bypass any domain name restriction set in Company settings.
-
When Enhanced responses is on, the email address are not included because all communications happen in the Responses report, including replies to rapid responses.
-
The email addresses in this property are added just before the email is sent, and can potentially allow people to see sensitive or identifying data. Ensure that you enter email addresses only for people that should have access to sensitive data. For more information, see Data protection.

- Holidays calendar
- Days of the year to use when calculating trigger delays. No workflow activities are triggered during the holidays defined for the calendar in use. Define calendars on the Alert Holiday Calendars screen, and choose the calendar to use for this option.
