Capabilities
Company > Users > Roles > Roles
Capabilities grant access to actions and areas of Medallia Experience Cloud. Capabilities should be assigned to Roles, though in special cases they can be assigned to specific accounts (not best practice).
Capabilities are organized hierarchically, with some acting as parents to others. Selecting a parent capability automatically grants access to its child capabilities. For instance, the Social Media reporting capability is needed to view social media reports. Assigning this capability to a role gives all users of that role access to social media reports, but not other social media features. However, if the Social Media (all access) capability is selected, users gain access to all social media features.
Assign capabilities on the Roles screen or, when necessary, on the User Capabilities screen. For more information, see Roles, permissions, and capabilities.
Capabilities hierarchy
These are the capabilities in hierarchical order. A capability that contains other capabilities has the permissions of all its children.
