Sending Android SDK Logs to Medallia
MXO's SDK Logging feature lets you save and share SDK logs with Medallia.
You can store a total of 24-hours of information in the SDK logs. After 24 hours, old log files are overwritten. When sharing, all log files are combined into a single zip file. You can access that file through the Admin mode interface and share it with Medallia's support team.
When you share SDK logs with Medallia, only those logs are shared. All sensitive information is removed, automatically, prior to sharing.
How do I access SDK log settings in Preview mode?
You can access SDK log settings directly from the Preview panel, when in Preview mode.
- Open the app with the SDK running in Admin mode.
- After logging in, long press the Poker chip to enter Preview mode. The Poker chip turns green to indicate you are in Preview mode.
- Access the Preview panel by tapping the Poker chip again.
- Click SDK Settings.
The Preview panel displays the current state of SDK logging, showing if the logging is ON or OFF.
How do I turn SDK logs on?
By default, SDK logs are turned off.
To turn SDK logs on, simply switch the toggle to ON and then navigate back to the page in the mobile app where you need to reproduce the issue encountered with the SDK.
How do I share SDK logs with Medallia's Support team?
- After you have reproduced the issue, return to the Preview panel and navigate to the SDK Settings screen.
- Click the Share icon.
This creates the zip file for you to share in the way that is most convenient for you. The individual log files contained in the zip file are named as follows: "Thunderheadlog{day of month}_{hour of day}".
For example, a log file created on January 4th at 10pm will be named "Thunderhead_log_4_22". All individual log files contained in the zip file are .txt files.
