Agile Research 26ARCR1.3 release notes

Release starting 29 April 2026

Highlights

New Medallia Agile Research survey interface and Design Studio

Medallia Agile Research is releasing a new survey interface with Design Studio, which includes a new appearance editor. These are rolling out to customers by region over the next coming months.

A new survey experience for respondents

The new survey interface refreshes what respondents see when they take your surveys. It includes modernized question designs, accessible color generation that meets WCAG 2.1 contrast standards, new page layout options, configurable page transitions, and more.
  • New surveys created after your region is enabled use the new survey interface automatically.
  • Existing surveys are not upgraded automatically. They keep the appearance your respondents see today. A survey moves to the new interface only when you open Design Studio for that survey, make a change, and click Save. A confirmation message appears first, and the upgrade cannot be reversed. Copying an existing survey automatically applies the new survey interface to the copied survey version. The new interface is not backwards compatible.

Design Studio

Design Studio replaces the Appearance settings with a single, modernized design panel. Design Studio is available under Settings > Design Studio. See the Design Studio documentation for additional details.
  • Real-time appearance preview — See how your survey looks to respondents as you make changes, without leaving the design panel.
  • Desktop and mobile preview — Toggle between desktop and mobile views, set specific dimensions, and adjust zoom to check your design at any screen size.

  • Automated accessibility contrast checks — Design Studio flags color combinations that fall below WCAG 2.1 contrast standards and can correct them automatically. Progress bar color, for example, is adjusted to meet a 3:1 minimum against whatever surface sits beneath it.

  • Modernized appearance and design settings — Logo, color, typography, background, and layout controls are reorganized into one panel with a live preview.

  • Themes — Save any design as a theme and apply it to your other surveys using Theme Manager.
    • Themes and existing designs — Themes and saved designs created before this release do not migrate to Design Studio and will need to be recreated. See the Theme Manager documentation for additional details.

  • New custom favicon — You can now upload a custom favicon to display when respondents open your survey in a browser tab. If no image is selected, the Medallia logo is used by default. Set this under Settings > Options > Favicon, then choose an image from your Media library or enter a URL.
