Configure Insights Assistant

Learn how to configure and set up Medallia Insights Assistant.

System administrators must execute the following step-by-step procedures in sequence to successfully activate, secure, and customize the Insights Assistant workspace for your organization.

Important: Standard reporting configurations typically include most of these setup steps.
  1. Optional: Configuration in Medallia Setup.
    Sets default role-level reporting context for Insights Assistant when an end-user question lacks specific details. Completing this optional step is not required to activate the feature.
  2. Shared Configuration in Medallia Admin Suite.
    Shared Configuration — Required to activate Insights Assistant. This setting establishes role-level context for the agent by specifying the following elements:

    • Metrics

    • Topics

    • Segments

    • Reporting preferences

  3. Reporting and role permissions in Medallia Admin Suite.
    Assign and enable the required role-level permissions to activate the feature.
  4. Optional: Configure Agent Instructions.
    Customize the AI agent's behavior at the role level to enhance its default system prompt. This step is optional and is not required to activate the feature.
  5. Configuration validation.
    Verify that active roles can access Insights Assistant and that agent-generated outputs meet expectations.
