Create and Manage Attributes
Attribute creation and data capture involve a two-step process:
- Create the Attribute for data storage.
- Establish an Attribute Capture Point to collect data into the attribute.
Create an Attribute
In MXO, navigate to Collect and select Attributes.
Click Create and specify the attribute type: Customer Attribute or Activity Attribute.
Enter the attribute details as follows:
Field Description Name Provide a unique name. Description Optional. Describe the attribute. Data Type Choose Text, Boolean, or Number. Key Attribute For Customer Attributes, select if it's a key. API Name Assign a unique API name for key attributes. Storage Method Decide on the storage format in MXO. Confirm by clicking Save.
Edit a Customer Attribute
- In MXO, go to Collect.
- Choose Attributes.
- Select the attribute to edit and click Edit.
- Update as needed and click Save.
Important Considerations
- System attributes provided byMXO cannot be edited.
- Modifying the API name of a key attribute can disrupt integrations that rely on the original name upon its next publication.
- Altering an attribute's storage method only impacts new data entries; existing values retain their original storage format.
Delete an Attribute
- Navigate to Collect in MXO.
- Go to Attributes.
- Select the attribute and click the Delete icon.
- Confirm deletion by clicking Yes, delete it.
Important Considerations
- You cannot delete Key or System attributes from MXO.
