Exporting Heatmaps

You can export heatmap data or a screenshot as a JPEG, CSV, or JSON file.

Exported data varies depending on the heatmap type selected. For example, exported data for a dot heatmap includes click coordinates on an axis with the number of times each coordinate was clicked.

To export heatmap data:

  1. In Analyze Heatmaps, under the navigation bar, click Export.Exporting a heatmap

  2. Click one of the following buttons to export the data for the current heatmap:
    • Take screenshot — Exports a heatmap screenshot as a JPEG file
    • Export as CSV — Exports heatmap data as a CSV file
    • Export as JSON — Exports heatmap data as a JSON file

Recent heatmap exports appear on the table in the Analyze Heatmaps. When the export is done, you can download, edit, or delete the file from the Actions column.

To view older heatmap exports, click Show archive.

Exporting heatmap sessions

You can export heatmap session data to CSV when using boundary mode. This will show all of the session data on display when using boundary mode.

To export heatmap session data to CSV:

  1. In Analyze Heatmaps, enable Boundary mode.

  2. Click Show visitors in the area you want to view sessions for.

    The sessions list appears.

  3. Follow the steps in Exporting sessions and pageviews to CSV.
