Heatmap Types

Heatmap types are overlaid on a background page to provide insights into user experiences on a property.

Selecting heatmap types

  1. In Analyze Heatmaps, click the Heatmap type dropdown.Heatmap type dropdown menu

  2. Click the tab for the heatmap type to create.

  3. Click Generate heatmap.

The heatmap is overlaid on a background page from your property.

Available heatmap types

TypeDescription
DotDot heatmaps display user interaction patterns on a page or screen, with warm colors indicating high levels of interaction and cold colors indicating low levels.
Note: Dot heatmap is currently the only heatmap type available for DXA for Mobile.
Attribution

Attribution heatmaps display the following information:

  • Number of interactions on user-interface (UI) elements, such as buttons
  • Number of tracked events associated with each UI element
  • Value associated with each tracked event
Behavior

Behavior heatmaps display key user Behaviors registered on a page or screen.

For example, if you select Bird's nest in Behavior type, you can immediately see where this behavior was detected on the page with color-coded markers. Scroll to the bottom of the page for a key.
