Custom domain request process
This topic describes the procedures required to request a custom domain. See Using your own domain for surveys and reports for additional details about custom domains.
Custom domains in Agile Research are configured at the account level by default, which means that any changes made to a custom domain setting can affect all existing surveys within the account. It is crucial to follow the appropriate procedures to prevent unintended disruptions.
Impact of custom domain request changes
When implementing or modifying a custom domain, consider the following:
Survey URLs
Existing survey links will shift to the new domain. Old URLs remain active and operational.
Invitations and reminders
Previously sent email invitations and reminders will come from the old domain and will contain a survey URL leading to the old domain. Although a new domain is in place, the old one will remain operational.
Email invitations and reminders sent after the custom domain is applied will include links reflecting the new domain, which may lead to confusion among recipients if they are expecting emails from a different domain. This can cause issues within companies where the previous domain has been whitelisted, and this could be seen as phishing, thereby affecting the Sender Reputation Score (SRS).
Reports
Reports generated or shared via links will have different links. If, for example, one domain is whitelisted within a company, the new URLs might not be accessible.
Procedures
Agile Research tool users
Agile Research tool users should contact their administrator, who will then approve and request the custom domain and any associated changes. If the account administrator approves the request but cannot complete the form, the account administrator can provide the link to the Custom Domain Request Form to another tool user by clicking the question mark in the Agile Research account and then selecting Request a custom domain. In the page that opens, copy the full URL in the browser's address bar and then share this with the person who will complete the form.
Technical Support team
-
The Sales Director / Account Executive / Customer Success Manager / Partner submits a support ticket.
-
The Technical Support team will impersonate the Agile Research Account Administrator (only possible for those that have Back Office access). When impersonating the account, click the question mark in the Agile Research account and then select Request a custom domain. In the page that opens, copy the full URL in the browser's address bar.
-
Apply the Macro Custom Domain Request form URL to the case.
-
Update the content by amending the URL you copied.
-
Submit to the case submitter and close the case.
