You can show question numbers to your respondents. By default, the numbering is turned off. It can be better not to show the numbering, for example, when your respondents skip certain questions because of branching or page display logic.

You will always see question numbers when editing a survey page or when looking at the report with graphs and filters, even if numbering is turned off. When you click Preview, you will see the survey in exactly the same way as your respondents do. When question numbering is turned off, you will not see any numbers in the preview version.

To show question numbers in your survey, complete the following:

1. Open your survey.
2. Select Settings > Appearance.
3. Select Show / HIde screen elements.
4. Select the Show question numbering checkbox.

   

5. Click Save. When you click Preview in the top right corner of the page, you will see the question numbers in your survey.

To turn off question numbering, deselect the Show question numbering checkbox.
