Changes that affect functionality.

Auto Importer and passwords

Warning: It is possible to update user-account passwords through Auto Importer. This feature may be deprecated in a future release. If your company requires this feature, contact your Medallia representative to have them validate the requirement with the Medallia Security Engineering and Trust Assurance group teams.

Medallia MQL API

Warning: The Medallia MQL API is deprecated and will no longer be available after July 31, 2024. Clients, partners, and administrators must migrate usage to Query API by that date. For more information, contact your Medallia expert.

Exports using string templates is deprecated

Restriction: As of the Summer 2023 release, the ability to set up exports using string templates is deprecated. Customers that had string template exports prior to Summer 2023 may continue to use those exports, and they will also still be able to set up new ones using string templates. If you require the use of string templates, please submit a feature activation request so that Medallia teams can validate the use of this now deprecated feature.

Tableau connector and export End of Life Notice

Warning: As of the Summer 2023 release, Medallia has begun the End-of-Life (EOL) process for the Tableau Web Data Connector, which enables Exporting reports to Tableau. This is due to Tableau's recent announcement that the Web Data Connector is deprecated and will be sunset in 2024. For complete information see Tableau Connector End of Life Notice.

From email addresses

Important: As of the Fall 2023 release, the email address From Name and From Address for survey exports and push reports are automatically generated and cannot be changed. For example, the exports the Name now includes the company or instance name in the form "MEC Export for [companyName]". And the address includes the company or instance name as shown in the Web reporting instance URL, such as "mec-export-[companyUrlName]@[broadcasterHost].com.

Admin Suite

  • A new version of the Report editor introduces a range of enhancements to streamline your dashboard editing and reporting experience. With this update administrators can now manage their dashboards, providing a seamless and intuitive experience for building, editing, and enhancing reports. This version is available for Web dashboards and web for Mobile dashboards. The new editor streamlines the entire process, allowing you to build and edit reports with a more intuitive and user-friendly interface. Here are some key features:

    • Direct editing from published dashboards — You can now make real-time updates to published dashboards directly, eliminating the need to access the editing interface in Medallia Admin Suite. This seamless integration simplifies the editing process and ensures that dashboards are always up-to-date.

    • Intuitive dashboard creation in Admin Suite — You can create and modify dashboards with ease right from the Admin Suite. This feature simplifies the dashboard creation process, allowing you to design comprehensive and insightful reports effortlessly.

    • Drag-and-drop "What You See Is What You Get" (WYSIWYG) editing — The new reporting editor features a user-friendly drag-and-drop approach, allowing you to create or edit reports using a WYSIWYG interface. This intuitive method enables quick and precise customization without any technical barriers.

    • Instant visualization of content — With instant visualization, changes made to your reports are immediately reflected, allowing you to fine-tune your content and presentation in real-time.

    • Preview before publishing — Review additional change details before finalizing your edits. The easy preview functionality allows you to ensure the accuracy and appearance of your reports before making them accessible to others.

    • Effortless exit from Report editor — Exiting the report editor is now simpler than ever. A straightforward return or exit option ensures that you can easily step out of the editing environment when you're done.

    • Module card editing in Preview — While previewing a dashboard, simply select a module card, and its corresponding editing screen appears on the side panel. This streamlined approach lets you reach the settings of an individual module with a single click.

  • Admins can now configure Email templates such that the plain text is separate from the HTML format without affecting each other.

    Additionally, Feedback response (also known as Rapid response) configuration no longer includes email template changes made by the frontline user to be sent without edits.

Medallia Web

  • Action plan templates help drive consistency and provide quicker action plan creation.
    Important: This feature is available upon request. Ask your Medallia expert to file a Feature activation request with Medallia Support.

Reporting

  • The most commonly used modules in are now collapsible to allow for more data density and to reduce scrolling:

    • Dial
    • Scores Over Time
    • Alerts
    • Dashboard Ranking
    • Benchmark Over Time
    • TA Top/Bottom Scores

    This feature is available both in Medallia Web reporting and Medallia Mobile; however, it is only collapsed by default in Medallia Mobile.

    Restriction: This feature is also available under MyMedallia for GovCloud customers. This and all mobile application features need to be included in Customer ATO process for use as these apps cannot be granted JAB P-ATO under Medallia GovCloud due to the technical nature of getting these deployed on customer environment.
