Tableau Connector End of Life Notice
This is notification that Medallia, Inc. has begun the End-of-Life (EOL) process for the Tableau Web Data Connector, which enables Exporting reports to Tableau.
This is due to Tableau's recent announcement that the Web Data Connector is deprecated and will be sunset in 2024. That connector is the technology that Medallia Experience Cloud relies on. Once that connector is sunset, the Tableau integration for Medallia Experience Cloud will be sunset as well.

Alternative solutions
If you still wish to use Medallia data in Tableau for general reporting use cases, there are two general solutions to explore:
-
Clients with access to the reporting platform known as Medallia Alchemy Experience can manually export raw data in Excel or CSV format. Tableau supports these file based imports natively. Note that Medallia's user-generated report exports have some record limits (starting at 20,000 records) depending on the export service. Please coordinate with your Medallia servicing contacts to understand the configured limits for your instance.
-
For a more automated solution, consider integrating Medallia Experience Cloud with a data warehouse solution (e.g., Snowflake or Databricks) used in your enterprise. These integrations can be activated with automated integrations such as webhooks (Omni Exporter) to synchronize Medallia data with other data sources often used for business intelligence reporting use cases. Tableau supports a number of integrations with these data storage platforms. Consult with your Medallia servicing experts to learn more about this option.
