Medallia Experience Cloud Winter 2022.4 (e683) release notes

Released starting 26 October 2022

Notices

Changes that affect functionality.

SFTP

Warning: Medallia is consolidating our SFTP storage layer into a single, scalable platform that can account for increased signal volume and sizing from our clients. All legacy SFTP servers are now deprecated and will be obsolete after October 31, 2022. Clients, partners, and administrators must migrate to the new SFTP layer or to a third-party SFTP server before that date.

This change will affect legacy SFTP servers whose names begin with "ftp1.", "mft." and "mft1.". The new SFTP servers names all begin with "filestash."

This change will affect existing exports and feed pulls. User names and SSH keys will remain the same. Passwords, however, cannot be migrated due to security constraints. If your program uses one of the legacy SFTP severs, it will need to be migrated to the new storage layer. For assistance, please contact your Medallia servicing contact or to Medallia Support via https://help.medallia.com.

Static files hosted in Medallia's AWS S3 bucket

Warning: Beginning 31 July 2022, Medallia no longer hosts client-files in its AWS S3 bucket. All access to existing files stored in the bucket has been terminated. Medallia recommends companies either host the files themselves, or use some public storage system like Amazon AWS S3 buckets or DropBox storage.

Auto Importer and passwords

Warning: It is possible to update user-account passwords through Auto Importer. This feature may be deprecated in a future release. If your company requires this feature, contact your Medallia representative to have them validate the requirement with the Medallia Security Engineering and Trust Assurance group teams.

Medallia MQL API

Warning: The Medallia MQL API is deprecated and will no longer be available after July 31, 2024. Clients, partners, and administrators must migrate usage to Query API by that date. For more information, contact your Medallia expert.

Release Highlights

Profiles

  • The new View all contacts permission allows a role to access all contacts on the contact list module, bypassing the role's usual data-access limits.

Integrations

  • The Async Bulk API has stability and performance improvements.

  • The S3, SFTP and Genesys connectors (runtime) have performance and scalability improvements.

  • New connectors for Amazon Connect enable users to import audio recordings and chat conversations. Use these imported data signals to feed Text Analytics processing. Signals can be tagged to specific agents to bring in additional metadata for reporting and segmentation.

Medallia Web

  • A visual editor is now available for Action plans.

  • Notifications can now be enabled for Action plans.

  • Enhanced Anonymity data views are now available in Admin Suite. Dashboard Ranking modules now have enhanced suppression logic.

Reporting

  • This release includes minor updates to existing reporting features (no impact to FedRamp/GovCloud):

    • New option in the Report editor to configure Smileys"(emoticons) for a Responses List.

    • New role permission for downloading Living Lens video responses from the Reporting module.

    • New option in the Report editor to configure fixed data points on column charts in Segment Distribution Over Time module.

  • Medallia Web no longer supports Internet Explorer 11. Users attempting to sign in to Medallia Web from Internet Explorer 11 get an error message in English. To show the message in other languages add a Translation for each language.

Social

  • Medallia Social now supports the ability to benchmark competitors on Social Media in Europe. Brand coverage is subject to vendor coverage policy.

Surveys

  • The Survey editor includes cosmetic UI updates, including an improved UI for the rule builder, and some minor changes to the appearance of elements on the Survey canvas.

Text Analytics

  • Text Analytics Native Language configuration by Experience Program enables admins to bypass any natively processed languages for their instance and instead first translate to the target language before processing it. This makes it easier to launch a new program without the pre-requisite of having the rules built in all the natively-processed languages. Once the rules are built for a the bypassed language, it can then be enabled for native processing later on.

  • Added Slovak support in Topics and Themes.

  • Fixed minor parsing bugs.
