Questions

Questions is where you can create the temporary Ask Now questions displayed together on the Ask Now page of one or more existing survey(s), occupying their own separate page. Ask Now questions can be used to quickly test new ideas or give survey takers the possibility to expand further on a particular topic you would like to dive deeper.

Create Ask Now questions

To set up the Ask Now questions, click Create questions. This takes you to the Survey editor, which is the building area where you add, edit, and delete sections and content for surveys. For more information, see Surveys.

Warning: There is a maximum of 20 questions per Ask Now. Existing Ask Now pages with more than 20 questions will remain as they are: active Ask Now pages that have more than 20 questions will remain active with no changes; however, you cannot activate existing Ask Now pages with more than 20 questions. Additionally, you cannot create new Ask Now pages with more than 20 questions.
Although this survey editor is almost the same as the one used in Admin Suite Surveys, there are certain differences such as:

  • You cannot add more pages. Ask Now questions only occupy a single Ask Now page.

  • You cannot add a content element from Question libraries.

  • You cannot create survey versions. The version of the survey available when the survey is active is always used.

  • Multiple fields, Matrix, Side-by-side, and workflow elements are not available.

  • When adding Display logic to an element, fields available are limited to the fields that are part of the Parent survey's Experience program. If the Parent survey does not belong to an Experience program, then all fields from the instance are available.

    Tip: To use units to condition your Ask Now questions in the Questions step, store units in a separate E-field and use that field to set the conditions.

After creating the questions, click Return to Ask Now to go back to the Ask Now editor. You can edit the questions back later by clicking Edit.

Clicking 'Edit' takes you to the survey editor to add the Ask Now questions. Once done, click "Return to Ask Now" to go back to the Ask Now editor.

Preview Ask Now questions

After creating your questions, Ask Now automatically loads a quick preview on how the survey looks and feels for survey takers. Click Preview to open the Ask Now page in a new tab and, optionally, experience how to respond to the questions as well.

Important: Questions that have a Display logic do not appear in the preview.

Click 'Preview' to experience the Ask Now questions as a survey taker.
