Create and Manage Eligibility Rules
Use the Eligibility Rules Editor to create and manage your Eligiblity Rules.
When creating, editing or cloning Eligibility Rules, be aware of the following:
- All Eligibility Rules must have unique names.
- You must publish an Eligibility Rule to make it available to your live environment.

- Click Create to open the editor. When the editor opens, you are presented with a free-form page, as follows:
- Begin typing your new Eligibility Rule directly into the editor and MXO automatically suggests data items you may be looking for. Select the correct item from the list and carry on typing.
- Alternatively, open the data item picker to select the data items and functions you want to include in your Eligibility Rules. Just select Open Data Item Picker.
- Click Save when your Eligibility Rule is complete.MXO displays an error message if you attempt to save an invalid Eligibility Rule. For example, if you enter a numerical value as part of a boolean Eligibility Rule. MXO also highlights the invalid parts of the Eligibility Rule as you type to enable you to find and change them easily.
Edit an Eligibility Rule
- In MXO, choose Orchestrate.
- Select Eligibility Rules.
- Click the Eligibility Rule you want to open for editing.
- Double-click the item in the Eligibility Rule you want to change and select Edit in Data Item Picker.

Copy an Eligibility Rule
From time to time you may want to clone an existing Eligibility Rule, rather than creating a new one from scratch.
- In MXO, choose Orchestrate.
- Select Eligibility Rules.
- Click the Copy icon next to the Eligibility Rule you want to clone.
- Rename the new Eligibility Rule and make any other required changes.
- Click Save.
Naming Copied Eligibility Rules
When you clone an expression, "-copy" is appended to the name of the cloned Eligibility Rule. We recommend re-naming cloned Eligibility Rules before saving to avoid having multiple Eligibility Rules with very similar names.
