Posting surveys on Facebook
Using Facebook, you can either post your survey invitation to your personal timeline or you can make use of their advertisement campaigns to reach a specific target group.
Posting a survey on your Facebook timeline
After you have created your survey and tested it, complete the following steps:
- Open the survey you want to distribute via Facebook.
Select Distribute > Add / Remove channel.
- Select Web and URL / Social media. Click Save.
Launch the survey.
- Select Distribute again and select Web
Select Survey URL.
Select the Social Media tab.
Click the Facebook icon. If you have created a multilingual survey, you'll see the button repeated for every available language as well as the language selection page
A new tab will open where you can add an additional message to your post. (If you are not signed in to Facebook yet, you will be prompted for your credentials first.)
Click Share link to put your message on your timeline.
Using the Facebook adverts campaign
With Facebook, you can advertise your survey to a specific target group. Some examples include if you want to reach a female audience in their mid-twenties or perhaps you are looking for people with a specific degree.
You can link this advertisement directly to your survey. Adding an incentive to your campaign will also increase your response rate.
For more information regarding this option, see the Advertise on Facebook page.
- Encourage respondents to share your survey link.
- Add an image to your post. This way, it stands out more and people will be more likely to click on it.
- Many social media visitors only use their smartphone. Make sure your survey is fit for mobile.
