Create a New Space from an Existing Space

Creating a new Space using the configuration from an existing Space, is a two-stage process:

  • Export a snapshot of the existing Space's configuration to a file.
  • Import the snapshot to a new Space.

When using a snapshot of your current Space configuration to create a new Space, the version of the snapshot must match the current version of MXO . As best practice, when creating new Spaces, we recommend taking a new snapshot of an existing Space and using that snapshot to create the new Space immediately.## To export a snapshot to a file

  1. In MXO , choose Configure.
  2. Click Export Config.
  3. Select the snapshot to export from the Select a Snapshot list.
  4. Click Export. The snapshot is exported and saved as a .snapshot file.

Import a snapshot to a new Space

  1. In MXO , click on the current Space name.
  2. On the Space Selection page, click Create.
  3. Enter a name for your new Space.
  4. Select Import a previously exported snapshot.
  5. Click Choose file to browse to the .snapshot file to import.
  6. Click Import. Your new Space is created and a new site key is issued for that Space.
  7. Click Finish.

What do I need to do after a new Space is created?

After the new Space is created, you must ensure you re-enter the relevant passwords and security tokens for any previously configured Data Adapters.

All imported objects are added to the 'In the works' snapshot. You must publish your changes before you can test your engagement configurations.
