Create and manage assets
Learn how to create and manage your assets in MXO.
What file extensions are accepted?
Only assets with these file extensions are accepted for uploading:
- .gif
- .htm
- .jpg
- .png
- .zip
.zip files can contain file types that would not otherwise be accepted for uploading (for example, .css files).
What size should assets have?
Any graphic you use as a substitute should have the same dimensions as the original graphic that it's being substituted for. This prevents the substituted graphic from needing to be resized by MXO and helps prevent any distortion that can occur with resizing.
Create an asset
To create an asset, follow these steps:
In MXO, go to Orchestrate > Assets.
Click + Create.
Provide the following details for your asset:
Field Description Asset Name A name for your asset. Asset Description Optional. A description for your asset. Asset Type The type of asset to create. Choose from Text, HTML, JSON, XML, or External Asset. If you select External Asset, enter the unique URL for the content in your CMS. For example, http://site.com/widget/1234 Note: Control assets do not deliver content but enable MXO to listen to responses to your default content and assess the performance of your orchestrations.Asset Markup The markup associated with the asset. If you upload an asset, this markup is created automatically. Track customer response Configure response tracking for your asset. This enables MXO to track positive, neutral and negative responses to an optimization. For example, you may want to use responses to track customer interest in a product recommendation. Positive responses are tracked by default for all asset types. For Text, HTML, JSON, XML, and External Asset asset types, enable response tracking for neutral and negative responses by moving the switch for those responses to On. Provide a label and target URL for each response you want to track. For example, for a positive response to a product recommendation, you might want to send the customer to the "Buy now" page of a mobile app. For more information, see Configure Customer Response Tracking (Mobile and Assisted Channels). For Control assets, enable response tracking for specific areas of your default content by providing an HTML tag, id, class, or other DOM identifier. Viewpoints Optional. Select the viewpoint to associate with this asset. Viewpoints ensure the correct variant of your content is displayed on each touchpoint. This enables you to carry on using existing actions, rather than having to create new ones. Click Save to finish the creation process.
