Text transcripts are editable. Manage a transcript by:

Editing a transcript

A Media View page with the Edit cue point button activated.

To edit a transcript:
  1. Start from a Media View page.

  2. Click Edit icon Edit Transcript above the transcript field. The button changes from white to the purple, as shown in the image above.

  3. Click on a word to edit in the transcript. This opens the text editor area beneath the transcript field.

  4. In the text editor, edit the text in cue point that contains the clicked word. Each cue point has a 100 character maximum. It is not possible to extend the character maximum.

  5. Click Save.

    Important: Edits do not save if you do not click Save before clicking to a different cue point.
  6. (Optional) Click another line of transcript to open a new cue point in the text editor. Click Save after you edit each cue point.

  7. Click Edit icon Edit Transcript to exit the text editor. The button color changes to white.

Important: There is no change log for transcript edits. Video is unable to retrieve earlier transcript text it is manually edited by a platform user.

Transcript edits appear in the Video platform. Transcript edits made in Video also appear in Medallia Experience Cloud Responses Form as part of Video Experience Edition.

Ordering a transcription

Order an alternative transcription solution, such as human transcription and/or translation, for video and audio files. For information on available solutions, see Transcription and translation.
Important: Ordering any human transcription or translation services incurs additional cost if it is not included in your Medallia subscription. Contact your Medallia Representative for pricing information.
To order a transcript:
  1. Start from a Media View page.

  2. Click Order Transcription.

  3. In the Order Transcription modal, select a transcription solution for the native speech from the Upgrade Transcription menu. Select Speaker Separation to order this formatting for supported languages.
    Note: Upgrade to Human transcription with Speaker Separation is only available for English language media.
  4. If applicable, select an English translation solution from the Upgrade Translation menu.
    Important: Human transcription and translation incur additional cost if not included in your Medallia Video subscription. Contact your Medallia Representative for pricing information.
  5. Click Upgrade to place the order. This will automatically send the order via API.

  6. Upgraded transcription and/or translation will automatically appear in the platform upon completion.
