Embedding Digital code using a tag manager
A tag manager is a system that allows website managers to update tracking codes and related code fragments, collectively known as tags, on a website or mobile app. Once the small segment of tag manager code has been added to a website, other tags such as the Digital embed code can be deployed through the Tag Management System (TMS).
Tags can be triggered using various criteria including the page name, variables, and other options available in the TMS. The triggers control where and when a tag is to be added to a webpage.
All tag manager applications are supported, including the following:
Launch by Adobe
Tealium iQ Tag Management
Google Tag Manager
Signal
Qubit
Ensighten
TagCommander
Piwik Pro
IBM DDX
Yottaa
See the following sections for deployment and verification details:
Deployment process
The process to deploy each system is similar across all TMS products. To embed the Digital code to a website using a TMS, complete the following general steps:
- Add the Digital embed code for the property into the TMS. See Retrieving Digital embed code.
Use the TMS to set the load rules for which pages, sections, or websites where the Digital Feedback tag should be embedded.
- Configure the tag so that it is fired after other tags are deployed on the website.
- Save and publish the changes.
The tag can be deployed to any environment (development, QA) and to production when surveys are ready.
Deployment verification
Even if no surveys are published, the tag manager should still load the Digital Feedback embed code. To validate that the Digital Feedback tag has been deployed, open a browser and enter the URL in the address bar. When the website displays in the browser, use the Developer Tools to confirm that a reference to nebula-cdn.kampyle.com appears. See the following example to verify deployment using Chrome:
In Chrome, right-click the page and select Inspect.
In the developer console, click the Sources tab and search the list on the left for nebula-cdn.kampyle.com.
Click the Console tab and check for errors.
Digital Feedback surveys that have been published are displayed, as follows:
