Release highlights
The Agent Preview feature can now be turned on or off in the Holly Management System (HMS) user interface.
A new Application Parameter, agent_preview_enable, must be added and set to true to enable the Agent Preview feature. Removing the parameter or setting any other value will disable it.
Agent Preview allows agents to preview caller data before providing DTMF input to begin speaking with a customer. To learn more, see the IVG 5.0 configuration guide.
- RHEL/CentOS 7.9
- RHEL/CentOS 8.3*
PostgreSQL 10
IVG's PostgreSQL dependency version has been upgraded from 9.6.17 to 10.
Tomcat 9.0.43
IVG's Tomcat dependency version has been upgraded from 9.0.33 to 9.0.43.
New Holly Voice Platform (HVP) version 7.2
IVG 5.0 utilizes the new HVP version 7.2.12.
Shell dependencies have been simplified
The IVG Setup Wizard no longer requires the tcsh and ksh shells to be installed. IVG functionality has been standardized to use the bash shell only.
This update also applies to the configuration for LDAP authentication.
Secure connection to RabbitMQ for CTI Event Consumer
It is now possible to configure a secure connection for CTI Event Consumer via RabbitMQ for IVG systems.
IVG 5.0 utilizes the systemd and systemctl utilities rather than traditional init scripts to initialize Tomcat.
Using systemd keeps IVG current with newer standard practices and allows us to take advantage of improvements introduced by systemd.
IVG 5.0 does not support CentOS Stream.
New updates to the CentOS Stream OS are added prior to new RHEL releases. Because of this, IVG is not supported with CentOS Stream. This may change in the future as the CentOS Project ends support for CentOS 8.
SCRAM authentication is now used for postgreSQL
The previous md5 authentication method has been replaced with SCRAM authentication to address a security vulnerability with md5. SCRAM authentication is configured automatically by the IVG installer.
The TRACE and TRACK methods are now disabled for Apache HTTP Server
Both methods can cause security vulnerabilities on Linux operating systems when using Apache HTTP Server. The IVG installer now disables these methods automatically.
IVG 5.0 does not support RHEL/CentOS 6
We have removed support for RHEL/CentOS version 6 as required by the new voice platform patch, HVP 7.2.
IVG 5.0 Supports VoiceXML Interaction Server (VIS) version 7.6.
See the VIS documentation for more information on VIS 7.6.
Fixed issues
ID | Description | Versions Affected |
---|---|---|
177456418 | When using VIS 7.5 or lower with Avaya, if there is no value configured in the toolkit.properties file for the Disconnect Transfer DN (com.virtualhold.toolkit.avaya.disconnecttransferdn), calls can be dropped prior to reaching an agent. A resolution to this issue is included with VIS 7.6, which is bundled with IVG 5.0. | Any version of IVG using VIS 7.5 and lower with an Avaya telephony environment. |
174083837 | The IVG prerequisite check now creates and verifies the voice platform, PostgreSQL, and Tomcat users, groups, and installation locations. During the prerequisite check, the installer will verify:
In previous IVG deployments, this process was completed as a part of the IVG installation process, and did not check for restrictions for users and groups accessing the installation paths. | 4.1 and earlier |
177457119 | An issue with SIP messaging when using the TLS protocol has been resolved. For versions of IVG that utilized HVP 7.1.2, when IVG was configured to use TLS, the record-route parameter sent by HVP in the SIP INVITE contained an incorrect default port for TLS. This could cause issues with further SIP messaging between HVP and the telephony environment. An update to HVP 7.2.12 (used by IVG 5.0) now ensures that the expected TLS port is specified for the record-route. | 4.0 - 4.1 |
175973209 | When using Agent Priority, the default voice files were always played to agents, even when different voice files were configured for customer dialogues. An update to audio fetching logic now allows you to set custom CallScripts (voice file collections) to be used for both customer and agent dialogues. | 4.1 and earlier with Agent Priority |
Known issues
180103356 | An issue with a specific TLS configuration in Avaya environments can cause callbacks to be disconnected before transferring to agents. This issue has only been seen in the following scenario:
In this scenario, an issue with the processing of SIP messages can cause HVP to overwrite the TLS port with a 0 when attempting to transfer a customer to an agent. This results in callbacks being disconnected without the customer speaking with an agent. Versions affected: IVG 5.0 and higher using HVP 7.2.12 and higher Workaround: Contact the VHT Support team to discuss potential solutions, which could include:
|
180330576 | HVP 7.2.12 can disconnect calls early in IVG 5.0 and 5.1. In versions of IVG utilizing the HVP patch 7.2.12, HVP sometimes disconnects inbound customer calls before any voice prompts are played. When this occurs, customers hear silence and their calls are quickly disconnected. This issue only occurs during periods of high traffic (a specific volume threshold is not known). Versions affected: IVG 5.0 and 5.1 Workaround: Downgrade to IVG version 4.1.1. |
178033262 | When configured to use LDAP users, the IVG installer throws an error and does not complete the installation. An issue with the version of HVP packaged with IVG 5.0 causes a failure during installation with LDAP users. When this happens, the IVG installer throws an error and cannot continue. Workaround: Run the installer without using LDAP users:
