PureConnect interaction administrator user setup for Real-Time Adapter
Overview
VHT recommends the following steps for configuring a user to be used by the PureConnect (formerly CIC) Real-Time Adapter.
For further information, refer to the PureConnect Interaction Administrator Help documentation, which is available online.
License
VHT recommends dedicating a new user profile for use only by the real-time adapter.
Configure a user with the correct licensing credentials:
- From Interaction Administrator, select People > Users.
- Double-click a user name to display the User Configuration window.
- Select the Licensing tab.
- Check Client Access License.
- Check Enable Licenses.
- In the Additional Licenses section, check Interaction Supervisor Plug-In: Workgroup.
- Check Confirm auto-save.
- Click Apply.
- Click OK.
Access
A user must have access to the Workgroups for which statistics need to be updated.
Configure a user with the correct Workgroup access:
- From Interaction Administrator, select People > Users.
- Double-click a user name to display the User Configuration window.
- Select the Workgroups tab.
- Select the Workgroups from the Available Workgroups list and click Add.
- Click Apply.
- Click OK.
Proxy Login (optional)
In order to do proxy logins, the logged in user must have a specific "Proxy Logins" Access Control right configured on their IC User via the Interaction Administrator application. This setting is in the Miscellaneous section of the Access Control settings.
Password Policy
It is recommended (though not required) to add a different password policy to the user used by the real-time adapter. This ensures that the password for the user account never needs reset, and minimizes lock-out time if the user is locked out of the account.
- From Interaction Administrator, select People > Password Policies > Policies.
- Double-click Default Policy.
- Select New.
- In the Password Policy tab, enter a meaningful description.
- Select the Password tab and set the Maximum Password Age (days) to 0 (zero).
Setting the Maximum Password Age to 0 prevents the password from expiring.
- Select the Account Lockout tab and set the Lockout Duration (minutes) to 1 (one).
- Select the Users/Roles tab.
- Click the Add User button and select the users the new password policy applies to.
- Click OK.
- Click Apply.
- Click OK.
