If .NET Framework Version 4.6.1 or later HAS NOT BEEN INSTALLED, block the automatic update of .NET Framework to Version 4.6.1. Refer to Microsoft knowledge base article 3133990 (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3133990).

If .NET Framework Version 4.6.1 or later HAS BEEN INSTALLED:

  1. Uninstall .NET Framework Versions 4.6.1 or later using the Control Panel > Programs and Features > View installed updates feature to uninstall ALL 4.6.1 updates AND Update for Microsoft Windows (KB3102467).
  2. Choose to restart the server when prompted.
  3. Reinstall a supported version of .NET Framework (Versions 4.5.1 or 4.5.2).
  4. Ensure a server restart is performed.
  5. Verify the installed .NET Framework is operational.
